In the event that your team is short players for an upcoming game (due to travel, illness, etc) you have a TWO options.
Option #1 - Guest Player(s)
These players must register as a guest by:
- Calling us at 678-869-4690 and registering as a guest over the phone.
- Emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org and registering as a guest online.
- Signing a hard copy of the league waiver at the game. In these instances, the captain will be invoiced for the guest player participation.
Option #2 - Substitute Player(s) - These are other players from the league.
The second option is to recruit other players from the league to fill in on your team.
BY DEFAULT - Teams are only allowed to pick up enough players to reach the roster minimum. For example, the softball roster minimum to start a game is 7 out of the 10 players. If a team only has 5 registered players present, the team is allowed to pick up TWO (2) substitute players to reach the minimum needed to get the game started. If other roster players show up to the game late, they MUST replace the substitutes.
Alternatively, if Team B does not have an issue with Team A picking up extra substitute players, Team B must verbally agree in the presence of the league official and/or league manager. In this instance, there isn't a limit to the number of substitute players allowed.
If you are unable to recruit guest players, please contact the office as soon as you know you won't be able to play. You can email us at email@example.com or call 678-869-4690 during regular business hours (9AM-5PM, Monday through Friday.)
If you contact the office more than 48 hours ahead of time, we may be able to reschedule the game for a later date, and the missed game will not count as a forfeit. If you contact us less than 48 hours from the game, it will count as a forfeit. We may contact other teams to play in your team's place for a scrimmage, which will not count towards the season. Your scheduled opponent will receive a win in the standings.
